With an academic background in cognitive experimental psychology, Avi’s areas of expertise are human factors engineering, human computer interaction, and usability engineering. His professional and academic career in human factors has spanned over 30 years. He has devoted his career to influencing the design of workplaces and the tools people use to make their lives easier, safer, and more beneficial. Avi is internationally known as an expert in conducting usability studies. He is the founding Editor in Chief of the Journal of Usability Studies and the author of the Morgan Kaufmann book Conceptual Design for Interactive Systems. Healthcare is currently Avi’s main research focus, building on his longstanding passion for understanding and improving the relationship between people and technology.
